In 2011 I stumbled upon a 4mtr high  oak. The trunk was as thick as a soda can and had some buds low to the ground. I decided to dig it out but after 30 min digging didn’t find more than a couple of small feeder roots. Nevertheless I thought it would be fun to pot it into a large pot and left it in the garden. At that time it was no more than a straight trunk with nothing on it except for the few buds.

This year I took it out of the pot and saw it had developed a good rootball so it was time to transplant it into a smaller box and wire some branches that emerged from the trunk. The picture is taken spring 2013Image
